Untitled designMaking his return to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra on May 8, Fabio Luisi reunites with French pianist Lise de la Salle for Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 5, a work that the duo recently released on Philharmonia Records. “Under Fabio Luisi’s direction, the Philharmonia Zurich rarely imposes itself, but rather, as a musical partner, actively internalizes the soloist’s design,” the Neue Zürcher Zeitung commented on the close musical rapport between conductor and soloist after one of their Rachmaninov performances.
