Fabio Luisi makes his return to the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, the annual summer festival held in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan under the direction of the renowned conductor, for four performances with the Saito Kinen Orchestra. He shares a concert program with Ozawa on Thursday, August 18 and Monday, August 22, leading Honegger’s Symphony No. 3 “Liturgique” alongside a performance of Brahms’s Symphony No. 4 under Ozawa. On Friday, August 19 and Sunday, August 21, Fabio takes the helm for performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, ”Resurrection” with soloists Rie Miyake and Christine Goerke as well as the OMF Chorus and the Tokyo Opera Singers.
